Girard-Perregaux x Aston Martin Unveils Special Laureato in British Racing Green Ceramic
- Girard-Perregeaux and Aston Martin collaborate across various mediums.
- Girard-Perregeaux’s Laureato serves as the basis for the watch in two sizes: 42mm and 38mm.
- The green ceramic used for the watch is seven times harder than what you would find in a steel watch and has significant scratch resistance.
If you’re a car and watch enthusiast, you’ve probably noticed the common history, craftsmanship, and performance between these two arenas. Aston Martin and Girard-Perregeaux have collaborated in 2021, and what was unveiled earlier this year is a special Laureato in British Racing Green ceramic. Unlike other horological automotive collaborations that can be a bit too much, this timepiece cleverly marries the modern and classic styles.
Green Ceramic Aston Martin Edition 38mm
The little flourishes from the 70s-style typeface and the octagonal case combined with the distinctive green ceramic created a watch that operates on a “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts” foundation. Although it’s complicated and durable, it’s still lightweight and comfortable for everyday use and has a unique dial layout featuring hours, minutes, seconds, and date functionality. The leather bracelet completes the vintage vibe, although it could use a few white stripes. Even with a $25,000 price tag, the watch is worth the price.
